Regretfully, some people appear to have a tendency to undermine the work of others. A masked suspect used Molotov cocktails to set cars on fire and shoot people during an attack on a Tesla service center in Las Vegas. The FBI is investigating the incident as a possible act of terrorism. Similar attacks on Tesla facilities have occurred in Kansas City and San Diego.
FBI Terrorism Investigation Underway
Federal authorities have launched a terrorism investigation after a deliberate attack on a Tesla service center in Las Vegas where several vehicles were shot at and set ablaze. Surveillance footage captured a suspect dressed in black using Molotov cocktails to ignite the vehicles around 2:45 a.m. PDT. The perpetrator also spray-painted the word “Resist” on the facility’s front doors before fleeing. Law enforcement officials are considering the possibility of multiple suspects being involved in the carefully planned attack.
FBI Las Vegas Special Agent in Charge Spencer Evans stated the incident displays characteristics consistent with terrorism, though a final determination hasn’t been made. “This certainly has some of the hallmarks,” Evans noted during a press conference. Five vehicles were damaged in the attack, with two completely destroyed by fire. Fortunately, firefighters contained the blazes before they reached the vehicles’ lithium batteries, which could have caused more extensive damage.

Pattern of Attacks Against Tesla
The Las Vegas incident appears to be part of a concerning pattern of attacks targeting Tesla facilities and vehicles across the United States. In Kansas City, two Tesla Cybertrucks were reportedly set on fire, while a Tesla dealership in San Diego was vandalized with antisemitic symbols and profanity. Additional incidents have been reported in Boston, New York City, and Colorado, suggesting a potentially coordinated campaign against the electric vehicle manufacturer.
“This was a targeted attack against a Tesla facility,” Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren
The string of attacks comes as Tesla faces its first drop in annual sales, with significant declines reported in Europe, China, and the United States. Industry analysts point to increased competition in the electric vehicle market along with consumer backlash related to CEO Elon Musk’s heightened political profile as potential factors in the company’s recent challenges. The targeted vandalism represents yet another obstacle for the pioneering electric vehicle manufacturer.
This really burns my damn biscuits! 😡

Officials Promise Swift Justice
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo condemned the attack as “despicable” and promised those responsible would face prosecution. The FBI’s involvement, through its Joint Terrorism Task Force, underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating these incidents. Despite the violence, officials believe this was an isolated event with no ongoing threat to public safety. Law enforcement is actively pursuing leads to identify the perpetrator.
“Violent acts like this are unacceptable regardless of where they occur. And specifically, to those who might think that something like this is justifiable or potentially even admirable, we want to let you know that it’s a federal crime.” FBI Las Vegas Special Agent in Charge Spencer Evans
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced a nationwide crackdown on vandalism against Tesla facilities. “If you’re going to touch a Tesla, go to a dealership, do anything, you better watch out because we’re coming after you. And if you’re funding this, we’re coming after you. We’re going to find out who you are,” Bondi warned.
