Scores of business organizations cautioned President Biden about his vaccine order, saying it would exacerbate already-existing supply chain constraints.
On Thursday, the White House declared its COVID-19 vaccination and testing demand for staff at organizations with 100 or more workers. Non-compliant businesses may be penalized by up to $14,000 per infraction.
The trade associations (which comprised the American Trucking Unions, National Private Truck Association, and Truckload Carriers Association) claimed in a public letter to President Biden the policy would cost trucking businesses approximately four out of every ten drivers.

The Trade Associations Plead With Biden to be Reasonable
The letter from the association reads: “Our industries are steadfast allies in the struggle with COVID-19, and we firmly endorse the employment of vaccines to combat its spread.”
“Nevertheless, we are worried a mandate will suffocate an already overstressed supply system. We predict enterprises subject to the rule could lose 37% of their drivers at a time when America has become short of 80,000 truckers.”
“We need independence for transport and distribution chain employees, notably truckers, who spend the majority of their time in their vehicles and have little contact with coworkers or clients.”
The remark also expresses concern about ongoing delivery chain issues and their economic impact. “While we come from varying industries, we all share the responsibility of existing supply chain setbacks, which are driving up the prices and causing a growing scarcity of products in the United States as the holidays approach.”
“As corporate executives and patriotic Americans, we are strongly dedicated to the economic expansion of this country. We are attempting to restore normalcy and to support all Americans in living better lives by supplying them with accessibility to the critical products and materials they require.”
Biden Now Faces a Series of Lawsuits
According to the Washington Post, almost immediately after announcing the terms of its vaccine requirement, the Biden administration has been struck with a torrent of litigation from private firms and state governments.
The mandate is a “horrific misuse of authority,” according to Jeremy Boreing, co-founder and co-CEO of the Daily Wire. They also noted the company launched a lawsuit against the Biden administration.
“We are not the national government’s enforcement agency. Compelling Americans to pick between their jobs and their liberty is a heinous abuse of power, and we will not participate in it,” Boreing added.
“We will not bear the cost of adopting this testing system. We shall not be held liable for interfering with our workers’ private health choices and information. Our firm was formed to oppose dictatorship, and we will continue to do so.”

“Corporate entities and states have particular duties because we have the resources to fight this struggle,” Boreing continued.
“We read article after article of people attempting to make a difference. Those people, of course, lose their employment. They don’t have a method to take a position against the state, so they take a stand over their employers and suffer the effects.”
“Only companies and states, I believe, can take immediate action with the aggregate power required to effect change.”
